Gooseweed and small-flowered nutsedge are abundant in rice fields and considered as problematic as weeds. Thus, this paper aims to evaluate the possibility of ethanol production from these two weeds by calcualting the theoretical ethanol yield from its reducing sugars and cellulose contains. Biomass yield of gooseweed and small-flowered nutsedge was carried on rice fields in Chiang Mai province, Thailand and resulted yield of 207 kg/ha from gooseweed and 201 kg/ha from small-flowered nutsedge.
