Poor knowledge of soil suitability for agricultural production constitutes a major problem to land users. For proper assessment of the distribution soil properties, the use of remote Sensing and geographic information system (GIS) has been considered a very effective tool to achieve this. In this paper spatial variability of some chemical and fertility soil properties were investigated in Ridhora Watershed Nagpur, district Maharashtra, India . From the study area 59 soil samples were sampled by a systematic sampling strategy at 0 to 15 cm depth below the surface on a regular grid spacing of 1km× 1km with different vegetation cover and all the samples were transported to laboratory After data normalization, statistical analysis were used to describe soil properties and geo-statistical analysis were used to illustrate spatial correlation of soil characteristics and by using interpolating techniques of maps spatial distribution of these properties was prepared. Results indicated that in the study area the spatial variability of soil fertility was low to medium in available N; low to high in available P and moderately high to very high in available K. Available Zn and Fe showed deficiency in 60.9% and 7.40% of study area, respectively.
