An in-vitro investigation revealed that out of 18 endophytes ( 13 bacterial and 5 fungal) isolated from leaves, unripe developed fruits, petioles, roots, rhizomes, and pseudo stems, only four bacterial endophytes, GNBE4, GNBE9, GNBE12, and GNBE14, had potential antagonism towards FocTR4. The endophyte GNBE4 had the greatest mycelial inhibition (75.18%), followed by GNBE9 (71.90%) and GNBE12 (70.69%).GNBE14 had the lowest suppression of mycelial growth (61.07%). In the case of fungal endophytes the maximum growth inhibition was observed in RzFE and LfFE with 42.78% followed by PsdFE with 36.11 %. The lowest mycelial inhibition per cent was recorded in PtFE1 having the inhibition of 26.67 %. Apart from that, PGPR like P. fluorescens which significantly suppressed the mycelial growth of fungus having the mycelial inhibition of 70.01 %.
<AbstractLanguage>English</AbstractLanguage> <Keywords>Banana, Endophytes, FocTR4, P. fluorescens, Antagonism</Keywords> <URLs>
https://emergentresearch.org/ubijournal-v1copy/journals/abstract.php?article_id=14776&title=In vitro screening of native endophytes of banana (Musa spp.) against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense TR4 causing Fusarium wilt in banana
</URLs> <References> <ReferencesarticleTitle>References</ReferencesarticleTitle> <ReferencesfirstPage>16</ReferencesfirstPage> <ReferenceslastPage>19</ReferenceslastPage> <References/> </References> </Journal> </Article> </ArticleSet>
