2. Before You Begin

Before preparing your manuscript, please ensure that:

·         The work is original and has not been published previously.

·         The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.

·         All authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript.

·         All individuals who have made substantial scientific contributions are listed as authors.

·         Appropriate permissions have been obtained for any copyrighted material.

·         Ethical approval has been obtained where required.

·         Any potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed.

·         Sources of financial support have been acknowledged.

·         Data presented in the manuscript are accurate and have not been manipulated.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in rejection of the manuscript.

 

3. Types of Articles

ELSR accepts the following categories of manuscripts.

Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles report novel scientific findings based on experimental, observational, computational, or theoretical studies.

A typical Research Article should include:

·         Title

·         Abstract

·         Keywords

·         Introduction

·         Materials and Methods

·         Results

·         Discussion

·         Conclusion

·         Acknowledgements (if applicable)

·         Funding Information

·         Author Contributions

·         Conflict of Interest

·         Data Availability Statement

·         References

Recommended length:

·         Up to 8,000 words (excluding references)

·         Maximum 10 figures and tables combined

 

Review Articles

Review Articles provide comprehensive, critical, and balanced summaries of recent developments in a specific research area.

Reviews should:

·         Present a clear scientific perspective.

·         Critically evaluate published literature.

·         Identify current knowledge gaps.

·         Suggest future research directions.

Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses are also encouraged.

Recommended length:

·         Up to 10,000 words

 

Short Communications

Short Communications report important preliminary findings or novel observations that can be communicated concisely.

These manuscripts should contain:

·         Brief Introduction

·         Materials and Methods

·         Results and Discussion

·         Conclusion

Recommended length:

·         Up to 3,000 words

·         Maximum 4 figures/tables

 

Mini Reviews

Mini Reviews summarize recent advances in a focused research topic.

Recommended length:

·         Up to 4,000 words

 

Perspectives

Perspective articles discuss emerging scientific concepts, research trends, technologies, or future challenges relevant to life sciences.

These articles should present evidence-based opinions supported by current literature.

 

Letters to the Editor

Letters provide constructive comments on recently published articles or discuss important scientific issues relevant to the journal's scope.

Letters should be concise and supported by appropriate references.

 

4. Language Requirements

Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English.

Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed by a colleague proficient in English or by a professional language-editing service before submission.

Authors may use either British or American English, but the chosen form of English must be used consistently throughout the manuscript.

Language editing does not guarantee acceptance, but it may improve the readability of the manuscript.

 

5. Originality of Submission

Submitted manuscripts must represent original work.

The manuscript must not:

·         have been published previously,

·         be under consideration by another journal,

·         contain fabricated or falsified data,

·         include plagiarized content,

·         involve duplicate publication.

The journal may use plagiarism-detection software during editorial screening. Manuscripts with substantial text similarity or evidence of publication misconduct may be rejected without peer review.

 

6. Preprint Policy

ELSR welcomes submissions of manuscripts that have previously been posted on recognized non-commercial preprint servers, provided that:

·         the preprint has not undergone formal peer review;

·         the authors disclose the preprint during submission; and

·         the submitted manuscript is not simultaneously under review by another journal.

After publication in ELSR, authors should update the preprint record with a link to the final published article.
